County U18AA earn trip to Provincials

 

CB County U18AA Islands punched their ticket to Provincials with a 3-0 win in CB Cup action.

With a 5-0 record the Islanders earned a bye to the finals of the CB Cup. Though they had to wait to see their opponent. The Glace Bay Miners took on the NW Sharks for the opportunity to face County in the Finals.

Stephen Thistle Led The Miners charge with a 3 point effort in the game including the Game wiining goal. Braedon Hogan chipped in with 2 points of his own Leading Glace Bay to a 5-1 victory. Lucas Woodland had the lone tally for the Sharks.

Logan Reddick-Mcguire led the Miners in Goal while Jesse Sherwood took the loss.

In the final Luther Clair proved too much for Glace Bay as the County Netminder turned away every shot in a 3-0 Islanders victory. After a Scoreless first period Coltin MacLoed opened the scoring with a powerplay tally late in the second. It remain 1-0 until Jake MacIntosh scored County's 2nd PPG with just under 2 minutes to play, Then after Glace Bay pulled goalie, Logan Reddick-McGuire. Matthew MacIntyre sealed the deal with an empty net goal with under a minute to play to make it 3-0. It was a well balanced attack by the Islanders with only Terrance Toney picking up multiple points in the game, with 2 assists.

The Islanders now head up the line to represent Eastern Cape Breton in Provincial Playdowns
